The Best Restaurants in Oliver and Osoyoos

Small but mighty, Oliver and Osoyoos each have a diverse and delicious range of restaurants. The dining scene has experienced significant growth over the past decade, featuring hyper-local farm-to-table spots, authentic Mexican eateries, and cafes.

Here's a list of must-visit restaurants in the South Okanagan:

Oliver

Miradoro

Tucked into Tinhorn Creek Winery, Miradoro describes itself as ‘modern wine country cuisine’ and we completely agree. With panoramic views of the valley below, the cozy room is home to Mediterranean-inspired cuisine that pays homage to the bounty of the Okanagan. From casarecce, with slow braised lamb shoulder and a glass of merlot to roasted sablefish with an earl grey tea honey glaze, miso ramen risotto, crisp pancetta, and wild mushrooms, Chef Jeff Van Geest will impress you without a doubt. Mains range from $20-$50.

Oliver Eats

With the belief that bringing people together over food fosters a stronger community, Derek Uhlemann, the founder opened Oliver Eats in 2018. His goal? To expand the local food economy by championing its producers. Positioned conveniently along the route for a day of wine tasting, Oliver Eats is a blend of a café, market, and deli, serving up soups, salads, sandwiches, and a selection of grocery essentials from Tuesday to Saturday. Grab an infamous pastrami sandwich and sit at a sunlit picnic table or grab the provisions for an on-the-go picnic. Lunch ranges from $8-$15.

The Restaurant at Phantom Creek Estates

Currently only open for brunch, The Restaurant at Phantom Creek offers one of the most beautiful views in the valley. Collaborating with local farmers and producers, Chef Alessa Valdez serves up a hyper-local two or three-course brunch menu, each plate prepared with the utmost attention to detail. Keep a lucky eye out for Chef’s occasional Filipino-inspired dishes. Two-course brunch, $50.

Osoyoos

The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry

Located in Osoyoo’s Spirit Ridge Resort, The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry boasts modern vineyard cuisine inspired by their Indigenous roots. Chef Murray McDonald’s wealth of knowledge in the kitchen lends to a robust and warm menu. With mains like sage-basted elk loin with duck fat potatoes and Salish sea clams with seaweed beer broth, it is impossible to leave unsatisfied. Mains range from $25-$60.

La Marqueza Mexican Tacos & Market

La Marqueza Mexican Tacos and Market is a hidden gem serving up authentic Mexican street food downtown Osoyoos. They offer tacos, burritos, and quesadillas filled with pollo asado, adobada, or al pastor among other ingredients. Vegan-friendly items are available too. Tacos range from $3.50-$4.
